Biography:
Ziyue (Monica) Piao is a Ph.D. student in Music Technology at McGill University, under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo M. Wanderley and Prof. Isabelle Cossette since fall 2022. Her research specializes in New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME), with a focus on musical haptics and embodied interaction. Her work involves designing wearable haptic devices to enhance music learning, utilizing sensor technology and haptics to foster shared kinesthetic music experiences among diverse groups.
