Ph.D. Researcher
Biography:
Ziyue (Monica) Piao is a Ph.D. student in Music Technology at McGill University supervised by Prof. Marcelo M. Wanderley and Prof. Isabelle Cossette since 2022 fall. She is focusing on designing wearable devices and Augmented Reality interfaces to help novices learn music (mainly about scientifically breathing in singing). She is exploring the power of visual and haptic in augmenting music experience by facilitating musical understanding and expression. Her dream is to help more people without much musical background to enjoy music and express themselves through music.
Before joining McGill University, she obtained her BEng in Digital Media Technology at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and MA in Culture Creative Industry Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
