We’re pleased to announce that the paper titled “The ‘FIGHT’ of D. Andrew Stewart and the T-stick in the Improvised Choreography to ‘Everyone to the Power of One’” will present at the 10º CIACT – International Congress of Arts, Science and Technology in the session GT12 – Recognizing Bodies, Technologies, and Companion Species, held on May 26, 2025, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Authored by Dr. Fausto Borém (UFMG, CIRMMT, IDMIL) and Dr. Marcelo M. Wanderley (McGill University, CIRMMT, IDMIL), the paper explores an improvised performance by D. Andrew Stewart featuring the T-Stick. Drawing from a recorded theatrical performance and a subsequent annotated graphic score, the authors analyze the rich interplay of body movement, musical motifs, and multimedia expression.

Their analysis reveals how the choreography merges martial arts-inspired gestures, musical structure, and real-time visual elements to produce a meticulously constructed yet improvisational work. The findings offer insights into embodiment, technology, and layered artistic expression in digital performance.

Congratulations to Fausto and Marcelo on this compelling presentation! Please click the link to read the full paper.
