Here are three video demos from Robin Vandebrouck‘s internship at the IDMIL.

These are the result of his “Travail de fin d’études”, Université de Mons, entitled: “Conception et réalisation d’un générateur musical intelligent, modulaire et embarqué”. Supervisors: Thierry Dutoit (U. Mons) and Marcelo M. Wanderley (McGill U.)

These demos are based on the use of the Music Transformer generator coupled with the Probatio prototyping environment. The goal is to place the output of the generator as the MIDI input of a music synthesis software (Ableton Live). The Probatio blocks are then used to modify the parameters of the synthesis in a direct way. To allow for the interaction between Ableton and Probatio another IDMIL project is used: Mapper4Live (Boettcher, B., Malloch, J., Wang, J., Wanderley, M. M. (2022). Mapper4Live: Using Control Structures to Embed Complex Mapping Tools into Ableton Live. New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME) 2022).
