Abstract:

This paper introduces the CIRMMT/McGill Digital Orchestra Project, the objectives of which was to develop creative resources for the integration of digital technologies and live musical performance. The authors present five new Digital Musical Instruments (DMIs) designed during the project, and discuss issues surrounding the creation of repertoire and performance practice.
