Sometimes, people ask me where former IDMIL students work. It depends, but most of the lab’s graduates get jobs in industry or academia, while some also start their businesses.
IDMIL former students now work at Apple US, the most recent hire being Brady, who started there a few months ago. He is the fourth IDMIL alumni to get a job there (after Ian M, Marcello and Carolina). Around the same time, Paul B was hired at Shure Inc.
Other former students now work at Blackberry QNX (Johnty), Electronic Arts (Jerônimo), Flosonic Medica (Avrum), Resemble AI (Aditya), Intellijel (Josh), Moment Factory (Elliott and Bruno), the Societé des Arts Technologiques (SAT) (Eduardo), and Gearbox Studio (Catherine), among many other companies.
IDMIL graduates became professors and lecturers at the Universities of Limerick (Mark), Karlsruhe (Marlon), York (ON) (Doug), Dalhousie (NS) (Joe), Concordia (Gabriel), and MIT (Ian H).
Finally, others started their own business: Torso Electronics (Mathias B and Mathias K), Soundbrenner (Julian), and PapierLogik (Rodolphe), among others.
It’s awesome that training in music technology and new interfaces can lead to many professional outcomes! The possibilities are endless.
