Biography:

My music technology journey began at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. There, as a B.S. in Computer Science + Music student, I received a robust education in software development with a key emphasis in audio and DSP.

At the IDMIL, I am currently engaged in gestural research that involves the automation of guitar pedal effects. This project, nicknamed “Pedal Motor Controller” or PMC, uses motors to physically spin parameter knobs on guitar pedals. Using this system, I plan to explore how gesture and DSP both inform and are informed by rock guitar performance practice.
